dwelling within the waves

as I inhale the ocean
my breath becomes sanctuary

an island to crawl upon
a refuge for understanding

as I lay here
in this subtle silence

the taste of salt
still lingers

lonesome times
seen ahead

but why?

this feeling seems so
dull and dead

a dark nights wilderness
wraps me in its cold blanket
as i shiver away my own thoughts

....

awakened by the rising tides
a familiar sensation burns inside

ripples crawl over my skin
a blazing hot sun
beating through my heart and boiling my blood

I continue to seek
sifting through the sands
for an answer to this...
